Unlearning Problematic Sexuality
A shift in individual meaning over a period of time.
Problematic sexuality is primarily learned. It follows therefore that it can be unlearned. Employing the right intervention and management strategies can bring about a great catharsis in unlearning a practice that has taken a resilient hold and control over the person.
Effective change over a meaningful length of time, comes down to what your personalize motivation means to you. Because the magnetic pull of a double life has distorted your mind sets and/or behaviours (providing powerful reasons for you not to change), you will require powerful actions to help you strengthen short term motivation and help energize momentum for the long haul. I am always amazed to see what an individual can achieve in the first twelve months of consistent therapy.
Treating problematic sexuality effectively requires learning the art of emotional honesty, adopting the tool box of relapse prevention and creating a connectedness with individuals of like minds. Giving yourself time, coupled with concentrated consistency and steadfast determination, will inevitably prove powerful.
‘Be the next person to demonstrate this positive outcome’.
